Writings Seized from My Brain

Facing brain surgery, I ask myself, “Who will I be without my epilepsy?” After 35 years of seizures, my epilepsy is not simply a medical condition to be eradicated. It is part of my identity. With these essays I step outside of the doctor's office to honor my epilepsy and life.
